Hamilton is made up of many communities, groups, and stakeholder organizations, and each has a role to play in eliminating hate and promoting inclusivity. Examples of stakeholders include: all levels of government, health services, the education system, the justice system, employers, and faith-based institutions.
This is a pathway for stakeholders in their journey to integrating anti-racism, anti-oppression, decolonization, and reconciliation into their practices. Having policies that promote diversity and representation and ways to report hate and harassment are only a starting point for fighting hate.
Stakeholders must put their words into action to meaningfully contribute to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and equitable Hamilton for everyone. Actions speak louder than words, especially when building trust with historically marginalized communities.
